Seven Signs He's Just a Nice Christian Boy

In the LORD I put my trust; How can you say to my soul, “Flee as a bird to your mountain”?  


For look! The wicked bend their bow, They make ready their arrow on the string, That they may shoot secretly at the upright in heart.

    If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do?  


The LORD is in His holy temple, The LORD’s throne is in heaven;

     His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men.  


The LORD tests the righteous, But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates.  


Upon the wicked He will rain coals; Fire and brimstone and a burning wind Shall be the portion of their cup.  

    For the LORD is righteous, He loves righteousness; 


His countenance beholds the upright.

The Mother of six well-prepared daughters confided to me that the one thing her daughters feared the most was that they would end up living with a man different than the one they married.  How does a father protect his daughter’s heart?  How will a daughter know what kind of man is before her?  


The LORD loves righteousness because He is righteous.  He tests for righteousness and He tests the sons of men.


“Isn’t he a nice Christian boy” and “Aren’t they a cute Christian couple?” are philosophies that have not served our young men and young ladies well as a foundation for forming new families.


    How do you test for righteousness?  

    Is it proper to do so?

    Do fathers have the responsibility to try?
