Sweetness of an Earlier Time
I read Seventeenth Summer along with several classmates in junior high at the end of the 1960's, when the paperback was offered through the Scholastic Book Club.
It set the "young adult literature" bar pretty high and probably had more influence on my current expectations of a quality read than I realize. If I had a daughter I would likely encourage her to read it. It's a sweet book, well written, that will last another 60 years.
