I have no idea how I just read this for the first time in 2026 when it was written in 1980, truly the greatest work of fantasy/sci-fi genre bending I’ve ever read.
10/10, on 2nd reread in 2 weeks
i highly recommend anyone even stumbling across this review to read this. my perspective on scifi has been changed forever for the better and the way wolfe writes is entirely singular. you’ll love it. and if you dont you can email me with complaints
