An impossible position…
The moment Ava Weston checked into Shadow Lake Survival’s immersive survival training camp, Shadow Lake Survival’s weapons expert, Micha Nichols, knew something haunted her. He was sure of it. And that something had brought her to Shadow Lake Survival to heal or forget. He’d lived through a similar struggle in his life and knew he wanted to help Ava move on and maybe pursue a mutual attraction that was impossible to ignore.
That only disappearing can solve.
But getting involved was the last thing Ava needed. Her days at Shadow Lake Survival were filled with survival challenges, but her nights were plagued by fear and nightmares. Not even learning the skills she needed to protect herself could chase them away. Nothing could, until she faced up to the fears and the criminal charges awaiting her back home. She wanted to confide in Micha, but how did she tell the man she was falling in love with that she was wanted for murder and running from the law?

INTRIGUING INSPIRATIONAL STORY
Best-selling author Susan Sleeman has a gift for writing First Lines. Her first line in her latest release, Shadow of Hope, is an excellent example of how she uses it to entice readers straight into wanting to know all of her story: “He was at her front door, and he was going to kill her.” Once Sleeman has grabbed your attention, she will keep it with her original, intriguing, inspirational story.
Sleeman has created two main characters, Ava Weston and Micha Nichols. She has chosen these two because they both need each other, but they do not yet know. Ava is on the run after being falsely accused of murder. She signed up for Shadow Lake Survival’s immersive survival training camp to sharpen her survival skills and learn to survive off the grid. Micha’s family runs Shadow Lake Survival, and he is the weapons expert. He rotates with the other staff members, taking campers out for a week. He is sharp enough to recognize that something seems a little off with Ava’s story, but he chooses to observe her rather than react. Someone threatens Ava’s life, and Micha makes it his mission to get her to safety and solve the problem of who is after her and why. When Ava admits she has been falsely accused Micha feels compelled to help her. As they continue to get to know one another, they realize it is becoming more difficult to deny the sparks flying between them. They discover that when working together, they make an unstoppable force. Shadow of Hope is another incredible romantic suspense book by Susan Sleeman. I highly recommend it!
