From #1 New York Times bestselling author Meg Gardiner comes a new high-octane thriller in the acclaimed UNSUB series.
FBI Special Agent Caitlin Hendrix faces a case from nightmares.
In a Tennessee prison, Efrem Judah Goode draws haunting portraits of women he claims he has killed. Around the country, desperate families of the missing seek answers in his eerie drawings. And on darkened back roads and New York City streets, a new killer poses duct-taped bodies at the sites of Goode’s murders.
Two serial killers are locked in a twisted rivalry. To stop the brutal slayings, FBI profiler Caitlin Hendrix must unravel the connection between Goode and the Broken Heart Killer. Their warped competition destroys anyone in their path. Caught between a manipulative psychopath and a ruthless UNSUB, Caitlin has to dive into not one, but two dark and twisted minds. She will risk everything, plunging into the depths of their depraved clash to hunt down an unstoppable killer.

Worth the wait!
Book 3 of this series came out four years ago almost to the day. There are a handful of books that I’ve been anticipating reading this year and this is another one. Meg Gardner has been one of my favorite authors since I stumbled upon a tweet from author, Stephen King, who was raving over her. I waited patiently for this new story and it was worth the wait. Caitlyn Hendrix solved another case with twist and turns, and that completely trumped book 3 Dark Corners of the Night in my opinion. I thought that the killer in the third book was scary, but this new killer took the crown from him. One major thing that I liked about the story is that it kept me engaged . Gardiner’s writing is easy to follow and always interesting. I’m glad that I was unable to guess the plot twists. there was nothing about the book that I did not like. I just hope the next book has a shorter wait. you have no idea how patiently I’ve been waiting for this book to be released.
Worth the wait.
The fourth UNSUB installment steadily reacquaints you with the cast and previous plot points while introducing Gardiner’s latest manifestation of evil. Just as you begin to wonder when the story is really going to grab you, Gardiner has you hooked, line and sinker, and, “the game is afoot.” The acceleration is palpable, and the tension, ever-building, leads you through a masterfully woven plot you won’t be able to navigate quickly enough. The author continues to prove that her name belongs at the top of your reading list with this further installment of Caitlin Hendrix, taking us one step closer to her looming confrontation with The Ghost, ever developing in the background, continuing to build anticipation. Shadowheart deserves a top spot in your reading list this summer.
