Publisher Description
Daisy Gumm Majesty is in for a bumpy ride—literally—in this lively 1925 Pasadena mystery filled with danger, humor, and just a dash of romance.
The New Year's Day Rose Parade is supposed to be a time for celebration, but Daisy's day takes a shocking turn when a speeding motorcar barrels into her, leaving her bruised, battered, and with a dislocated shoulder. At first, she chalks it up to bad luck—until it's clear someone is trying to finish the job.
As her detective fiancé, Sam Rotondo, investigates, Daisy finds herself dodging more than just pain and indignation. Between well-meaning neighbors, an outpouring of sympathy (and baked goods), and her own stubborn refusal to stay in bed, Daisy must figure out who wants her dead before her next parade appearance is in a funeral procession.
If only catching criminals were as easy as catching spirits…
Alice Duncan spent years avoiding what she knew she should be doing—writing—by professionally folk dancing instead. Eventually, her muse won the battle, and she's been crafting engaging historical cozy mysteries ever since. Now a proud resident of Roswell, New Mexico, Alice enjoys the lack of smog and crowds while spoiling her beloved herd of wild dachshunds. Visit her at www.aliceduncan.net.
Don't miss a moment of the action with Daisy and her cadre of friends as they solve mysteries in 1920s Pasadena! Each story stands alone but is best enjoyed in order.

Daisy in danger, oh my!
The new year starts off with a bang for Daisy but not in a good way. She’s hit by a car and that’s just the beginning of her troubles. As more and more attackers come out of the woodwork Sam has a devil of a time trying to keep Daisy safe. Meanwhile the two meet a genuine Old West character named Lou Prophet. He inadvertently helps foil an attack and gets hired by Sam to watch over the Gumm-Majesty family. While Daisy is usually involved in some sort of mystery this time she’s the original target. Who’s behind the attacks? How does Daisy fair as the hits just keep on coming? Pick up your copy to find out. A thoroughly enjoyable read! I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.
Fantastic Historic Cozy
This was quite a doozy of a ride! Poor Daisy gets run down by an unknown assailant in a motorcar, dislocating the poor dear's shoulder. She struggles with the prescription of morphine due to her darling Billy's death, and the emotion of that is spectacular. Don't get me wrong, the story is riddled with all kinds of humor and Daisy's plucky spirit. We get to see the addition of a new and yet very old friend, a former Wild West hero. We get to see the romance and care between Daisy and her beau grow as he helps her heal from her injury, while also helping her regain her independence. This is, truly, just a fantastic read in a fantastic series.
