SHARING THE PASSION

The British Association of Snowsport Instructors (BASI) is a UK based membership association responsible for the training and licensing of snowsport instructors and coaches. BASI runs training courses and professional qualifications for instructors and coaches across five disciplines - Alpine, Snowboard, Telemark, Adaptive and Nordic. It has grown to a membership of 6,000 instructors who teach in over thirty eight countries worldwide. 


This book provides an in-depth look at the people and places who forged the history of the Association since its creation in the early 1960s and  it celebrates one of the UK snowsports industry’s biggest export successes – British trained professional instructors. 


The book is packed full of photos and videos which will take the reader back to the beginnings of ski instructing in the UK up until this day.  It will truly be a trip down memory lane for anyone who has been through a BASI course.


Many people have contributed to putting this book together and it is truly a joint effort from members of the Association.
