Caveat emptor
So, first off, I think every Holmes pastiche should indicate up front if there are supernatural, sci-fi, or steampunk elements. I prefer my Holmes unadulterated except for rare occasions, but I realize others may feel otherwise. So make it clear.
This volume has at least 2 supernatural Holmes stories, so be forewarned. The writing seems vaguely like Doyle, but apparently a “second and revised edition” still didn’t accommodate an editor, because the punctuation in this book seems to have been placed at random, or by a non-native English speaker. There are many, many run-on sentences and mystifying placement of commas.
There are also large sections completely plagiarized from Wikipedia entries on historical cricketers. This is of course lazy and bereft of character. Please do not reward this shabby work with your dollars.
