It turns out the dog, which Marty names Shiloh, belongs to Judd Travers, who drinks too much and has a gun—and abuses his dogs. So when Shiloh runs away from Judd to Marty, Marty just has to hide him and protect him from Judd. But Marty's secret becomes too big for him to keep to himself, and it exposes his entire family to Judd's anger. How far will Marty have to go to make Shiloh his?

Love trumps money
The conflict over right or wrong is century long, since the society and each individual have their own standards of justice, which might be brought upon by yearning for righteousness but not willing to sacrifice anything for it, but which tears people apart and plunges them into regrets if personal innermost pursuit of justice failed. Ray’s love and compassion won over not only Shiloh, but Judd Travers, both of which eventually were blessed by love and care, even though for Judd when it wasn’t care to begin with.
