A bestselling romantic comedy perfect for fans of The Unhoneymooners and The Hating Game, this enemies-to-lovers workplace romance set on a Galápagos cruise blends witty banter, forced proximity, and slow-burn chemistry.
Between night classes for her MBA and her high-pressure job at a cruise line, marketing manager Henley Evans has no time for anything except work. So when she’s shortlisted for her dream promotion, it finally feels like everything is paying off.
Until she finds out her biggest competition is Graeme Crawford-Collins—the remote social media manager she’s been sparring with in legendary email battles for months.
When their boss challenges them to pitch a winning marketing campaign for the Galápagos Islands, there’s just one catch: they have to go on a company cruise together. But when Henley meets Graeme in person, she’s caught off guard—he’s charming, thoughtful, and nothing like the rival she imagined.
As they explore volcanic islands, blue lagoons, and exotic wildlife, their rivalry turns into reluctant attraction. Now Henley must decide what matters more: the career she’s worked tirelessly for, or the unexpected chance at love.
Fresh, funny, and swoonworthy, this feel-good rom-com is a perfect beach read about ambition, second chances, and discovering what really makes life meaningful.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
A healthy dose of competition powers Hockman's laugh-out-loud debut about love on the high seas. Twenty-eight-year-old Seattleite Henley Evans's life is consumed by her job as marketing manager for an adventure cruise line, with a little time set aside for helping out her hot-mess sister, Walsh, and hating on her Michigan-based coworker, Graeme Crawford-Collins, whom she's disliked ever since he took credit for one of her ideas. Now Henley and the irritating, attractive Graeme are up for the same promotion and their boss sends them on the company's cruise to the Gal pagos islands; whoever comes back with the best marketing proposal based on their experience will win the job. On board, they contend with watchful crew, overly amorous suitors, and familial drama while engaging in the timeless enemies-to-lovers dance of misunderstandings, false conclusions, and flirtatious verbal sparring. Meanwhile, Henley's marketing brainstorming efforts lead her and the novel alike to a powerful environmentalist message. With flawed but lovable characters and exotic locales, this quirky, thoughtful love story will whisk readers away.

Main character is not great. Stale.
Meh.
The descriptions of the Galápagos Islands were inspiring but otherwise the story was just kind of… meh.
