A heart-pounding romantic suspense novel from New York Times bestselling author and “one of the most popular voices in women’s fiction” (Newsweek).
Samantha Jones is the best damn repo woman on the books. The streetwalkers, the drug pushers, the bands of looking-for-trouble punks haunting the mean streets at midnight don’t intimidate her. These are her people. The guy she finds bound and bloodied in the trunk of a flashy new BMW is a different breed entirely.
Daniel Panterro knows he hasn’t seen the last of the vicious drug runners who kidnapped him from protective custody and left him for dead. His only recourse is to take his pretty savior and her four-year-old son hostage and force her to help him. With ruthless killers stalking their trail, Sam must trust this handsome, menacing stranger. But as she relinquishes control, she feels an unmistakable desire. What is the price of falling in love with a man who operates on the edge of danger—her heart, her life...or both?
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Set in St. Louis, this spellbinding novel of romantic suspense from bestseller Robards (The Last Victim) stars Samantha "Sam" Jones, a 23-year-old single mother, who struggles to make ends meet by working nights repossessing cars while taking classes for EMT certification during the day. Her mundane life goes terribly askew after she finds an injured man in the trunk of a BMW she's repossessing. Before she can decide what to do, she's assaulted and thrown into the trunk with the man. In a fight for survival, Sam and her trunk mate, who turns out to be an undercover FBI agent, Danny Panterro, must seek a way to outwit their captors, members of a drug cartel. Sam's fiery determination to stay alive and keep her four-year-old son safe is the perfect match for Danny's tenacity as an undercover agent. Sensual love scenes help propel the novel toward its explosive conclusion.

There isn't much Roberts writes I don't like. Her women always have backbone but a touch of compassion. Story plot of who done it was well done. Worth the read.
Boring
The first few chapters were good and the last few were even off completely unbelievable. The rest was the same thing over and over.
Fairly Frivolous and Predictable
I considered this a waste of $10 that could have been used towards a better book. There was no real fleshing out of characters and the two main characters are hot for each other purely on looks (go figure). To much time spent on her MELTING at a look from him for my taste. The pretense of a strong headstrong heroine was a farce. The young girl reading the book was ok, but just ok. At the end of the day I only finished because I paid for it and I skipped large sections that went on and on about nothing.
