Oak Island, a quiet family vacation spot, becomes the center of national attention one summer when some of its residents fall victim to a mysterious disease. As the outbreak begins to spread the government makes the decision to barricade residents on the island until the situation resolves. Just as it seems that things could not get any worse, an early season hurricane forms in the Atlantic and takes aim directly on the small barrier island. With no easy way out, island leaders attempt to work with governmental officials to make some very tough choices.
