Bruce is a fantastic artist and a great writer. I've found his book easy to follow and gives some very clear advice how to improve the quality of your photography. There are lots of writers who provide technical manuals or tips and tricks, Bruce really puts his heart and soul into his writing - just like his images. I think you'll find that some very practical thought exercises at you can put to use right away. The book is very much worth the price.
