A decade ago, teenaged clairvoyant Rebecca Ryan gained notoriety helping the local police solve high-profile cases. Then came the shocking kidnapping that hit close to home; the first crime she couldn't solve.

Haunted by guilt since the shattering day her beloved kid brother was found murdered, Rebecca has finally made a fresh start in New Orleans. Then comes the all-too-familar vision: Mind-numbing terror. Shattering pain. The grim certainty that somewhere, a child has been kidnapped from his bed in the middle of the night. A child who shares Rebecca's last name--and perhaps, her brother's grim fate.

Back in quaint Sinclair, West Virginia, Rebecca intends to use her psychic gift to find her cousin's missing son before it's too late. But some people in town--and in the Ryan household itself--still resent her for what her second sight did. Some haven't forgiven her for what it couldn't do. And one vengeful soul is determined that Rebecca and her family will once again pay a deadly ransom...

ES the horror fan ,

Another exciting thriller from underrated master of suspense!

Black for Remembrance and All Fall Down were the first two books I ever read by Carlene Thompson and I immediately loved both books! When I read this one, it was even better! As a teenager, Rebecca Ryan’s psychic abilities failed to help the police find her missing brother before he was murdered, a tragedy that has haunted her for most of her life. Years later, she returns to the small town where the crime happened after her cousin, a ten-year-old boy vanishes. While driving into town, Rebecca is briefly overwhelmed by a vivid, frightening vision of a terrified child locked in a cold, dank basement. Scared out of her wits by the horrifying premonition that got her into a mild car accident, Rebecca wisely chooses not to share the news of her vision with the boy’s mother, but goes through with her plan to help the police track him down. Finding the kidnapper before it’s too late won’t be easy since he—or she—is hellbent on killing anyone who gets close to discovering the truth. Meanwhile, Rebecca’s slowly growing romance adds a monumental amount of added pleasure to what is already a fantastic, greatly enjoyable mystery. If you’re looking for an exciting, gripping thriller that does a fabulous job of defining what romantic suspense should be, don’t miss this splendid story that is every bit as romantic and passionate as it is suspenseful and terrifying! Carlene Thompson already has a huge army of fans and this book proves why she deserves it. This master of suspense is not only as good as Nora Roberts, she is also BETTER than Mary Higgins Clark!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
