Not as good as I remembered
I just reread this book. I had really enjoyed it when I was 10, and now I’m rereading it 18 years later and I can’t help but cringe at it. Do I understand that it’s for children? Yes. Does that make it good? No.
Mermaid stories can be done incredibly well, like the WaterFire saga as an example.
