HE'S HELL ON WHEELS.
Tall, dark, and dangerously handsome, Zane "Tracker" Colter is the strong, silent type of tattooed muscle biker who drives women wild. But as a master of strategy for the outlaw MC club, Sinner's Tribe, he doesn't have time to play around with groupies and biker chicks-especially when he can't stop thinking about Evie, the girl who got away...

SHE'S PLAYING WITH FIRE.
Evie's been in love with Zane ever since they were children-until he broke her heart and disappeared. Now he's back in her life, bigger and badder than ever. Zane is stunned by how beautiful and confident Evie's become, using her artistic talent to customize motorcycles. He wants her so bad, he'd ride through fire to win her back. There's one problem: Evie is dating his deadliest rival-the leader of the Black Jacks-and if Evie and Zane hook up, there'll be hell to pay... in Sinner's Steel.

As an introduction to this author’s writing it was a solid example,

The first I have read by this author, I happen to enjoy a solidly honest MC romance: if the characters manage to make me believe in them, and want to know more. And in this first loves reunite story, Zane carried that off nicely. Friends and in love since childhood, Zane and Evie were one another’s first love, and their one night of passion was the last one in many years.

Evie promised to wait, and shortly moved on, leaving Zane struggling and wondering just what happened. Believing her faithless and feckless, he’s moved up the ranks to VP of the club, when she walks back into his life.

Zane was attractive and believable, he has reasons for his behaviors, and while I never actually felt as if he “wanted” Evie for herself (more later) she was more of a challenge and his memories of who she is seemed to be halted in childhood. Because she – is far less compelling.

Evie is, in a nutshell, TSTL (too stupid to live), let alone draw huge amounts of loyalty and regard. There was little in her choices, past or present, that showed any capability of thought beyond her own needs of the moment, and a particular exchange where she wished to use Zane to ‘punish’ her for the death of another was disgusting, I wanted to punish her for sure, but not in the way she thought, almost putting the book in the DNF pile. If it weren’t for some solid writing, secondary characters with heart and depth, and the ever-present question as I wondered if Zane would smarten up and walk away from this woman who is selfishly struggling only to have all of her own needs met, I would have.

I didn’t necessarily believe their relationship as a mature and present thing, it was more stuck in the loyalties to the bonds from the past, and if Evie had, for one moment, shown an iota of growth or selflessness, it would have helped me tremendously. If you are a fan of the series, this is most probably a good fit. As an introduction to this author’s writing it was a solid example, showing much promise and I am intrigued enough to read the earlier titles in the series, hoping that the female characters won’t be so flat and unlikable.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGaley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.
