They forced me to bow down before I knew their names. Exposed me to their hungry eyes.
12 different men, each more gorgeous and wicked than the last, all of them getting one month with me.
And at the end... is the auction.
Sir Sapphire. It's been months since I first met him at the perverse ceremony that sealed my fate. He looks at me with a mix of hatred and burning curiosity, like I'm a puzzle to be pulled apart piece by piece.
But the real riddle is what he plans to do with me now that I'm at his mercy...

Marjorie Learns More About Herself
It is Sir Sapphire’s turn to have Marjorie for a month and he’s not her biggest fan. He feels she’s spoiled, lazy and out of touch with the world. Marjorie doesn’t know much about him except for the brief meeting at the ceremony and the warnings from Sir Emerald. They challenge each other from the start as they are both stubborn and want to be the one who is right. Marjorie thinks she can hold her own against him, but can she?
Marjorie makes good use of herself, helping in the kitchen and submitting to Sir Sapphire by kneeling while he eats. She really wants to go see the mines, and eventually gets Sir Sapphire to agree. Yet things do not go as planned and it spells danger. Throughout her time with Sir Sapphire, Marjorie faces challenges. It is how she gets through them that she grows stronger and learns she has value.
This is the fourth book in the “A Year of Surrender” series and the books keep getting more interesting. Ms. Aster has a knack for bringing uniqueness to each character and has created an intriguing storyline.
