Travel the world without leaving your living room!

This author was somehow able to put into beautiful words so many of the feelings and experiences I've had in the past six years of my own life. This book is a journey, and you travel with Meg and Patrick as they begin their relationship and then married life, as they move abroad and try new things and make great friends, and as they have life experiences which shape them and their bond forever. There's something for everyone in this story...love, travel, friendship, food, loss, laughter, and life. With a mixture of narrative storytelling and metaphorical poetry-like descriptions, the writing style will please all as well. Even (especially!) if you've never been in love or left the country, Six Years of a Floating Life will transport you around the world and into the hearts of a special couple who will teach you what life and living are all about. P.S. The extra features on this version (pictures, links, videos, etc.) are awesome!

Such an excellent story!!!!

Such an excellent story!!!! The author did an excellent job of balancing strong details while keeping the story moving. I couldn't put it down once I started! Her beautifully written descriptions really took you on along on her journey of living abroad in Germany, China, Japan and Sweden while going through the ups and downs of your twenties that is relatable to anyone who's searched to find your place in the world. It was funny, sweet, smart, sad, romantic and extremely compelling! I will be rereading!

I love the interactivity of the IBook version and felt the author's use of technology as a tool to help tell her story is foreshadowing the future of the book industry! I want more books like this! So smart. I also loved looking up the definition of words in the foreign language dictionary and felt that not only was I being entertained by the book I was also learning something new. Excellent!

Six Years of a Floating Life

A wonderful read suitable for wanderers of any age. ( even "wanna-be's" ) Having traveled extensively within the United States, transacting business in all the lower 48 both as truck driver and a tour bus operator interacting with myriad cultures established here or just visiting, I found traveling abroad with Megan to be an absolute delight. The narrative was a total pleasure. I personally enjoyed the use of the embedded links to travel even deeper into the local atmospheres as I cared to go, knowing full well that I was only a click away from returning to the storyline.
So find your sense of adventure, grab your "whim stick", magic seashell or favorite pocket rock and download today and set out on a shared journey that will leave you waiting for more from the talented pen of Megan Rich.
