Thalia is twenty-one and has just finished her sophomore year of college. Her new boyfriend, Liam, invites her to spend the summer with him and his family, so as she’s been unable to find a local job to keep her at college, Thalia jumps at the chance. Liam tells her that she can be his guest at his brother, Jack’s, wedding at the end of the summer.
Jack is twenty-five and feels as though he’s drowning. He’s engaged to Mia, against his will, because it’s always been drilled into him, family comes first. Jack’s studying for a law degree, and wants to go out on his own once he graduates, specialising in criminal law. His father wants him to accept a junior partnership in the law firm owned jointly by him and Lewis, his fiancées father, to practice family law.
Then he meets his brother’s girlfriend, Thalia, and he can’t get her out of his head. He needs her to keep her distance, because every time she smiles in his direction, he wants to carry her to his room and do really naughty things to her.
Then Saturday night arrives and Liam takes Thalia to a new bar that has opened on the outskirts of town, where she discovers Jack’s big secret. By day he’s the good looking, slightly older brother with a chip on his shoulder, who gives her hot looks, and by night he’s Phoenix, singer/guitar player for bad boy group ‘Deception’, who makes her sizzle to the core!
He has muscle. He has tattoos. He has piercings. He has a mouth that makes her panties wet every time he opens it. He is supposed to be getting married. He is also her boyfriend’s brother...
Customer Reviews
Juvenile storyline with graphic shagging and no substance.
Thalia: She's in college. She is twenty-one. She lives with Callie.
Jack: studying to be a lawyer. Arranged marriage to a girl name Mia by family. Liam's brother. He does not want to marry Mia. He flat out warns Thalia to keep her distance from him because he is engaged and he does not know if he can stay away from her. He is horny all the time because him and Mia have never had sex. The last time he had sex was eighteen months ago.
The storyline revolves around the issue of sex. His band mates enjoy threesomes and he is no longer having sex. His brother Liam is pretending to have sex with Callie. There seems to be some ulterior motive going on with Liam. It's as if he is trying to use Callie to sway Jack away from Mia.
Unfortunately I'm having to skim through this story because it's horrible to read. It's juvenile and poorly written.
What a weird concept for a story to have Liam pretend that Callie is his girlfriend then warn her to stay away from Jack.
The author keeps rambling and making excuses why Jack needs to follow through with marrying Mia for the family business all the while he keeps playing games with Thalia.
It's sad watching all these people get hurt and live miserable lives to please their parents. It's like reading an episode of All My Children. Too much gossip. People need to keep there sex lives to themselves that way other people cannot go behind their back and blackmail them. The lines are cheesy. She needs to write with emotion instead of saying exactly what they are feeling it will come across as passionate instead of raunchy.
I did not like the story line of the arranged marriage by the parents. Then Mia's father trying to hurt Liam by having her marry his brother. It's too juvenile for adults to behave this way.
