Skin Disease of the Lower Extremity
This review is mostly a complaint with regard to the pictures contained within the iBook.
Many pictures are not scalable. In other words the pictures cannot be viewed clearly when zooming in on the image. They become fuzzy and pixelated.
For a derm book to contain images of such poor quality is inexcusable. I've downloaded this onto an iPhone 4s. So it's not because of the screen quality.
I spoke with a representative, Jeff, from the company that publishes this volume. It appears that they did not factor in the quality of the file they used to create these images in the iBook format. Actually the excuse was they couldn't find images of suitable quality and size.
There was no indication from the rep that any near term fix was planned. Sloppy planning indeed.
I have thumbed thru the iBook. If they used iBook Author, it doesn't show. Not a very creative use of this new medium.
