Sleuths Book 2

What price would you pay for fame?

All Ani wants is to succeed as an actress, but right now, she’ll settle for any job to pay the bills. Idol Star, a remake of the Korean reality show hunting for the next big multi-hyphenate performer, looks like her golden ticket.

Until her audition explodes. Every phone in the room erupts simultaneously, alerting everyone to the murder of one of the world’s biggest K-Pop stars in the world.

With her shot at the show circling the drain, a desperate exec offers Ani a lifeline: a guaranteed place on Idol Star, if she finds evidence that judge Ryu JiHan is the killer.

Ani is thrust into gruelling reality TV training and deeply inadvisable proximity the very handsome murder suspect. The closer she gets to JiHan, the harder it becomes to remember whether she's investigating him or falling for him.

Someone murdered K-Pop's biggest star. Ani is increasingly convinced she knows who — and equally convinced the answer is going to be very inconvenient for everyone. Especially her.

A romp of a murder mystery, perfect for fans of Pop Star Academy and A Good Girl's Guide to Murder.

About the author

Sam is an award winning screenwriter. She once declared she was a witch—though the two bus rides to the nearest occult shop made it more theoretical than practical. Sam graduated with a Law degree during the 2008 financial crash. Jobless, she escaped to Japan to find herself but instead found a haunted apartment and taught English in a Junior High School. On returning to the UK, she worked in corporate innovation but was made redundant when Covid struck. To make ends meet, she turned to gig writing for indie game developers and discovered a passion for screenwriting. Inspired by her experiences starting over and her complicated family relationships, she now pens female-led coming of age stories with a touch of horror and adventure.
