A young American male, hitch hiking through Australia via the outback, is given a lift by an old Australian Travelling Showman. Somehow the Australian Bushman seems to know what is troubling the young man "Duncan" and introduces him to people, like Jimmy an indigenous elder and the two old diggers who help him try to understand his past. With this help along the way, Duncan begins to unravel his dreams and life in unusual ways.
