Publisher Description
Will Darling came back from the Great War with a few scars, a lot of medals, and no idea what to do next. Inheriting his uncle's chaotic second-hand bookshop is a blessing...until strange visitors start making threats. First a criminal gang, then the War Office, both telling Will to give them the information they want, or else.
Will has no idea what that information is, and nobody to turn to, until Kim Secretan—charming, cultured, oddly attractive—steps in to offer help. As Kim and Will try to find answers and outrun trouble, mutual desire grows along with the danger.
And then Will discovers the truth about Kim. His identity, his past, his real intentions. Enraged and betrayed, Will never wants to see him again.
But Will possesses knowledge that could cost thousands of lives. Enemies are closing in on him from all sides—and Kim is the only man who can help.
A 1920s m/m romance trilogy in the spirit of Golden Age pulp fiction.

Lovely
More very good writing, of course a lot is left hanging as it’s 1 of 3 books but the heat and attraction between Kim and Will is great. I look forward to the next book.
*** somewhat of a spoiler** I understood why Kim has to remain true to his character but it is hard to take and also a bit unbelievable that Will would not only tolerate it but seem to court it.
“Here We Go Again For A Second Round Through”… 🫶🫶🫶‼️
I listened 🎧 and read 📖 this series in it’s entirety, back to back, however many ago and completely to my surprise (even with thousands and thousands of 📚 in my Kindle and Apple libraries to read; some which I’m actually 📖 concurrently), I decided to enjoy them all (📖/🎧) a second time again, which I think says it all. The description tells you all you need to know. The narration is “top notch” and even though (surprisingly), that it’s NOT Joel Leslie, this Cornell Collins is WONDERFUL, not only embodying them, but I’m guessing, bringing them MORE to life than how they are on the written page (which is in no reflection on K.J. Charles; one of my absolute favorite M/M ✍️ of this genre and it’s sub genres) and isn’t, ideally, what the job of a the narrator to do (outside of putting the written page on to a medium in need of it audibly)… 👏👏👏‼️
Fantastic
Fantastic chemistry, fantastic spy story, and I will definitely need to look into the next installment of this series.
