SMALL IRONIES: Max Draper is the younger child in a typical American family with a three-generation family business: prostitution. As a teenager he falls in love with a friend, a girl named Freddy. In New York, London and elsewhere life takes him through many changes, including sexual orientation. He ends up in a place never thought of, but very right for his history and background. In 52 chapters the book covers 17 years in his life.
