Smoke in the Sky is the story of Steve Hanson, a fourteen-year-old boy who spends the hot summer with his brother Jim and Jim’s wife, Rose, in the fire lookout on Pine Mountain, deep in the California Valley. During his summer stay, he learns about the effects of forest fires and experiences many adventures fighting them as well as learning how to preserve the beauty of the national forest. 


This book is especially written for younger teen boys who love adventure and the great outdoors.
