Smolder

This is the 2nd book in The Wildwood series. There was mention of Delilah and Lane in the first book so I couldn't wait to read their story! Delilah and Lane have always danced around their feelings for each other and after multiple almost moments, they finally give in to a night of passion! Even after, Lane is so convinced that he's not good enough for Delilah and that he'll just end up treating her bad like his dad treated his mom that he still keeps running away! Will he finally wake up and realize that he's not his dad and give him and Delilah a chance at happiness before it's too late?! I enjoyed reading to find out! So far I've loved all of Karen's/Monicas books and she doesn't disappoint! I read this book in under a day and I can't wait to read Wren and Tate's story in the 3rd book in the series!

“Smolder” is the second book in Karen Erickson’s “Wildwood” series, and it was fantastic. This book focuses on Lane, an incredibly loyal deputy in a small town who wants the one person he thinks he does not deserve, and Delilah, the girl who wants Lane but will not wait any longer for Lane to make up his mind. Once again, Karen has delivered amazing characters, an awesome story, and a few extra twists and turns to keep this reader guessing. I love Karen’s series and how she gives the reader glimpses into other characters, making a reader count down the days until the next book in the series is released. I finished “Ignite,” and really enjoyed West's & Harper's, but I could not wait for Lane’s & Delilah’s story. I think it was even better then the first book (although, I strongly suggest you start with Ignite so you understand the entire story, and also so you can watch the chemistry between Lane & Delilah ignite - yes, pun intended!). And now, I cannot wait to read Wren’s & Tate’s story!

Oh stubborn Lane. Delilah has always loved Lane but she can’t seem to get him to pay attention to her. She is successful businesswoman and believes in going after what she wants but after several failed attempts, will she finally give up on Lane? Lane has loved Delilah for years but the fact that she dated his brother and his example of a relationship with his parents truly holds him back. He is a strong alpha male that protects the town as a deputy but doesn’t feel he is allowed true happiness. Will Delilah finally break through his walls? Or will he give up the one thing that would make him truly happy? This is a fun, sexy romance with a bit of suspense thrown in. I wanted to smack Lane more than once!
