Publisher Description

The sixteenth book in the New York Times bestselling Elemental Assassin urban fantasy series that RT Book Reviews calls, “An extraordinary series…[containing] one of the most intriguing heroines in the genre.”

If you don’t know Gin “the Spider” Blanco, you don’t know dangerous female heroines.

Irony 101—The Spider herself snared in someone else’s web…

Another week, another few clues trickling in about the Circle, the mysterious group that supposedly runs the city’s underworld. Gathering intel on my hidden enemies is a painstaking process, but a more immediate mystery has popped up on my radar: a missing girl.

My search for the girl begins on the mean streets of Ashland, but with all the killers and crooks in this city, I’m not holding out much hope that she’s still alive.

A series of clues leads me down an increasingly dark, dangerous path, and I realize that the missing girl is really just the first thread in this web of evil. As an assassin, I’m used to facing down the worst of the worst, but nothing prepares me for this new, terrifying enemy—one who strikes from the shadows and is determined to make me the next victim.

Tome Tender ,

more action, magic and mayhem then most of us will see in a lifetime

Snared, Estep always picks the greatest reflections of her work for her titles. Gin definitely finds herself Snared by the very group she is hunting…the elusive Circle.

One of her friend/business acquaintance’s sister is missing and it is up to Gin to find her before her clock runs out. Gin's search has her knocking on doors that have Circle ties and she soon discovers she’s been pulled into circle business once again.

This series is like one of those deep fried bloomin' onion, with each layer Estep unpeels, you find yourself indulging deeper into the simple joy of it. SNARED is packed full of revelations, with lots of new and exciting, undiscovered depths to characters we thought we knew.

What can I say, Estep is a go to author. Bringing amazing fictional characters that become as familiar as family members. With each installment, catching us up with what's going on in their lives...of course there is way more action, magic and mayhem then most of us will see in a lifetime but we can live vicariously through their tales.

Boundless Book Reviews ,

Same old thing

I voluntarily received an ARC of Snared via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This review is hard for me to write because for the first time I found it very hard to get into a book from this series, and it was a bit of a chore to finish.  I think this was more of a mindset thing with me.  But then I am not sure if it is all my fault.  A series needs to stay fresh and keep things new and interesting to keep me hooked.  I have lost interest with many long-running book series.  The same goes with TV shows.  If it is just the same formula plot reproduced with a slight twist over and over I am beyond bored and ready to move one.  Unfortunately, this is how I felt with most of Snared.  The plot was very predictable and even the little twist at the end wasn’t much of a twist.

I am not sure if I am going to continue this series after this book.  I may give it one more shot.  The plots are becoming incredibly tedious, and this series needs a boost of some originality.  Gin stumbling around not being able to figure out what is so clear to the reader becomes tiresome.  Her hunting a serial Killer was new, but it really was the same, she is pitted against Ashland newest big bad.  It’s up to her to figure it out before all is lost.  She winds up going head to head with big bad and if you have read any other of these books you can guess the ending. Because they are all the same.

I am giving Snared Two Boundless Stars, I didn’t hate it but it could have been so much better.  I am on the fence If I will give this series another shot.  This may be the nail in the coffin for me.
