So Still the Dawn

Such an amazing series!

I was so excited for the latest installment of the Shadow of Mars series, and it had me completely attached to my Kindle that I read it in one day. The tears came pretty early on, and my heart broke while experiencing every issue Penny faced in this one. What I loved most was that she never gave up. It was such a lovely message, and I really hope we get more books in this series! I was so excited to see Penny find a little romance; it perfectly balanced all the sad and heavy emotions we feel throughout the story.

Again, Bertoli was my favorite secondary character, and I’d love to know what happens next with her. Will she keep fighting like Penny or is that it for her?

I also enjoyed how two men in this series are becoming more villainous, and I am left wondering if these first few books are the buildup to something even more appalling that puts the colony further at risk. I hope so! :-)

I really don’t want to give too much away, but I highly recommend this series, especially if you enjoy internal struggles! I think everyone can relate to Penny as she experiences a new planet and the social challenges of a new society.
