Soldiers' Lament

While on a visit to Northern France in 1987, Ruby came across a field of bright red poppies. Standing by the field, she was overcome with images and feelings of what had occurred years before in these same fields. These and other images were to haunt and torment Ruby for years until she had expressed them through her poetry. This emotional collection of poems enlivens the images and takes readers on an emotional historical journey.
