John Locke's “Some Thoughts Concerning Education” is the collection of reflections on education, published in 1693. This work is the “continuation” of Locke’s previous essay about Concerning Human Understanding (1690), in which Locke outlined a new theory of mind, contending that it does not contain any innate ideas. “Some Thoughts Concerning Education” explains how to educate the mind using three distinct methods: the development of a healthy body; the formation of a virtuous character; and the choice of an appropriate academic curriculum. .
