This book is full of surprises. It's memoir, it's self-help, it's uplifting despite the tragedy with which the book begins. When the author lost her daughter in a highway homicide, she was already worn down by two major relationship losses in her very recent past. She tells us she was in "a very deep hole" and needed to find her way out. Find her way out she did, with courage and determination that impress. By the end of the book (which seems to happen quickly, because it's hard to stop reading, I read it in two days), we know exactly how she accomplished this, and she shares her "recipe" for healing from anything that threatens to destroy us. An easy-to-read e-book that packs a wallop. Well-written, belongs in on-line libraries and support groups and on iPads, etc., everywhere people read for pleasure or to find their way to a quality of life that seems out of reach.
