Stolen in the night by a monster, I’m a captive now. Lucian Morelli always takes what he wants. And now he’s taken me. The man who’s haunted my steps from the moment we met at Tinsley’s ball now controls my every move in his hideaway. His dark eyes miss nothing, and he seeks out all my weak spots. He uses his fingers, his wicked tongue, his sharp mind. Searching, testing, looking for the me I’ve hidden away for so long. The me that’s still a scared little girl curled in a corner.
He’s relentless in his pursuit of my secrets, but I manage to discover some of his own. I’m not the only one hiding, not the only one marred by my past. And when he sees me, truly sees me, for the first time in as long as I can remember—I’m not afraid. I’m not afraid of this monster, my monster. I want him to hurt me, to break me, to put me back together, and above all, I want him to love me.
A love as fiery as it is destructive, one that will scorch our families and maybe, just maybe, set us both free.
LOVE THIS SO MUCH
I am so obsessed with this whole series, Jade West keeps leaving me speechless. Soulless had me on the edge of my seat, I just keep falling more and more in love with Lucian.
Lucian is that guy who doesn't let anyone or anything get in the way of what he wants. Elaine and Lucian are FIRE! These two had me on the edge wanting more from them. This book is hands down, A MUST READ!!!
Love the hero of this dark romance
Just like in book one of this trilogy (Heartless), I was fascinated by Lucian's dark and violent thoughts, and Elaine's damage and pain, and how those those things shaped who they are and how they behave. By the same token, it is so interesting how their obsession with each other is changing them and their actions. Some things I have been waiting for happened in book two - and they were great! - and I still am eager to see how they resolve their respective families with regard to their forbidden relationship. Book three comes out in a little over a week and I am very much looking forward to it.
Jade West has such a talent for writing it’s insane! In this second installment of the Starcrossed Lovers Trilogy we get to dive right in where we left off in Heartless. Lucian takes Elaine away from the city to torture and eventually kill her like she wants, like she begs for him to do. But neither of them are really ready for what actually happens.
This story is not for the weak, it has strong, dark scenes that you should prepare yourself for. This is a twisted tale that will challenge your ability to care for characters. If you are looking for a sunshine and rainbows romance you need to look elsewhere, but if you are looking for a romance that makes you take a step back and possibly cringe a bit then this one is for you! I can not wait for the last part of this story!
