Sour Lake

Mitch Carpenter is an FBI agent on a mission. It has been ten years since the slaying of his fellow agent and he has yet to solve the mystery surrounding her death. His careful investigation of the incident has led him nowhere until finally; an occurrence of domestic violence leads him to the strange small town of Sour Lake, Texas. There he encounters a motel maid who inadvertently bruises him, a twelve-year-old who engages him in pecan warfare, a cook at the local diner who threatens to do him bodily harm if he doesn't admit to enjoying her grilled cheese sandwiches, and a lady named Clareesa who just might be able to tempt him out of his life of self imposed solitary existence. Still, the bizarre behavior of the people in Sour Lake, Texas might just be the key to unlocking the mystery that has haunted Agent Carpenter for the past decade.
