Publisher Description
Young Dick Donat and his father spent Sundays in the 1940s, '50s, and '60s traveling to Cajon Pass and other Southern California train-watching spots. Alongside well-known rail photographers like Chard Walker and Bob Hale, they photographed the last of steam and early diesels moving tonnage and passengers. Southern Pacific, Santa Fe, and Union Pacific are the main focus of this action-packed book, but Pacific Electric and street railways, excursions, and short lines are also featured.

Customer Reviews
Not worth it
While there are a lot of photos a large percentage are out of focus or very poorly composed. There are also some images printed in reverse which is inexcusable. The captions are minimal and not terribly useful. All in all this is a very amateurish presentation of a bunch of typical railfan pictures and a waste of money.
