Some secrets have a way of coming back and haunting us, no matter how much we try to bury them.
After being left for dead, I was given a fresh start by my knight in shining armor.
I never had a family before they took me in.
But I don't know how to stay or trust.
I always had a bag packed and ready just in case I needed to escape again.
Like they say, old habits die hard.
Being in the shadows is lonely, but lonely is safe.
I was the quiet one, the one who stood in the back and watched things unfold. The cowboy who only cared about his horses instead of the glory.
Until I found her fighting for her life. Something inside me shifted, and I couldn't stop it.
I couldn't stop protecting her.
I fell in love with her with one look because she was my soul mate.
Even though I knew I couldn't make her stay
WHAT A READ!
WHAT A READ! This book really is a continuation of the last one in the series, where at the end we not only find Willow, but question her identity as she was a surprise to everyone during the recovery. When Quinn finds Willow under the bed, he gets her out and doesn’t let go, no matter what anyone assumes or feels about the situation, and when Willow comes to, she’s extremely confused and untrusting because of her past. My heart literally broke for Willow and everything that happened in her life, and I was so happy that Quinn was able to step in and be a support for her during her recovery. During that, we get to know about Willow’s past and what led her to her meeting Quinn, and we see Quinn become the typical guy that doesn’t know how to act in front of the girl he is falling in love with. While nothing too crazy happens in this story, we get to know Quinn and see that he’s more like his father than anyone realized, and that his instant love for Willow isn’t going away. I laughed, I cried, and I read this book in one sitting – I cannot wait to get my hands on the next one after the explosive ending of this book!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I love Willow and Quinn. The chemistry and the care they have for each other is honest and true. This is the best book I have read this year.
I cannot say nothing bad about Madison’s books. The stories are strong and gentle, but the impact is breathtakingly beautiful.
All the broken pieces of a life are taken and placed together to make something more precious.
