Southern in Season

“Southern in Season” features original recipes focused on fresh, farm-direct ingredients.  The recipes are arranged according to the seasons in which they can be found in abundance on farms and at farmers markets in Tennessee. Further, alongside the recipes are important tips for choosing, storing and using each recipe’s Tennessee grown or produced ingredient.  Some recipes are also paired with short demonstration videos featuring cookbook author, recipe developer and Pick Tennessee spokesperson Tammy Algood, who walks viewers through an aspect of food preparation or proper kitchen and culinary technique related to that page’s recipe.   A bonus for anyone who lives in or near Tennessee: within each recipe are direct links to web pages on the Pick Tennessee website where readers can quickly find the featured farm products near their own homes.
