AstroPaul ,

GUI not so spry, would rather keep my eye on the sky! :-)

Book developers do NOT ever start your books off with SOUND. If someone is trying your book for the first time in he middle of the night, it can:

1. Wake your partner, whose blissful dreams have suddenly been upset by loud, weird ads!

2. Startle your dog, who barks like crazy, figuring the premises are being invaded by burglars!

3. Disturb your household, who exit rooms sleepy-eyed wondering if there is a fire or a prank being pulled.

4. Make your reader jump, ruining his peaceful, late night read!

etc.

In short, it can lead to general chaos, alarums, and diversions! (Thurber could draw this scene well!)

Now, past that, developers should always have font resizing that WORKS! This book, alas, makes the text bigger (good), but screws up paragraph breaks and RUINS the text flow, leaving all sorts of white space in the middle! It looks silly and makes it hard to read to boot.

Third, the opening sentence tells the old saw that the Earth was once considered "central" and "special" because things moved around it. The more careful astronomy writers know that the early cosmology put the Earth there because it was at the "bottom", the dregs as it were, with the starry heavens and the realm of the gods above. Check out Timothy Ferris's writings, moot example.

We love things space related, but until these basics are fixed, we going to put this book away and go outside and look up!

3 star, middle rating for now.
