Three Words. Fab u lous!
Gotta run! About to buy the next installment for my iPad2! Onward and Upward!
I still can't quite get past the sometimes awkward style of writing, but I must say it would make an excellent screenplay. The complicated nature of the parallel plots and long, run-on paragraphs with no character identifiers makes is easy to get lost in such a long series. However, the visual imagery of a movie would give the stories immediate clarity. The books are already divided into acts, scenes and episodes and the sudden shifts in locale are almost written for cinema.
The subject matter is superbly chosen for the stories and compares favorably to Star Trek Next Generation or Battlestar Galactica. The settings and personalities of the TV show are extremely similar right down to the technical nerdiness. The story line is unique, however, and quite compelling. Though probably too rich for mainstream audiences; In the hands of the right producer these books could be a series of successful independent or HBO movies.
