At first, police suspect the body may be that of Olivia Hamilton, the troubled teenage daughter of a state senator, who disappeared weeks earlier. A closer look, however, reveals it to be the corpse of an unidentified Indigenous woman, which causes the FBI and local police to lose interest. The case then lands with the recently established Iron Lake Ojibwe Tribal Police, with O'Connor pitching in. Cork O’Conner series
I have read all of William Kent Krueger’s Cork O’Connor books…. Each one was better than the last! I highly recommend this series. I discovered Mr. Krueger by reading his novel Original Grace, a beautifully written book and then discovered Cork and family. You will not be disappointed… trust me!
Worth the wait
Always look forward to reading the next tale involving the O’Connor clan. This one tells a hard truth about the cruel depravity happening to NA/Indigenous women. If you’ve seen “Wind River” or the episode on Yellowstone” (kudos to Taylor Sheridan bringing some awareness on screen) where Monica assists ridding of one of the predators, you’ll appreciate this story.
