I fell in love with Cynthia Wright's books almost 30 years ago when I was a young mother of 3 rowdy sons. At the time they were 8, 7, and 5 years old and into mischief every waking hour. A friend lent me her copy of Spring Fires and every time I had a few minutes to myself I would curl up and retreat into the world of Lisette and Nicholai. These were my moments, and I looked forward to them with great anticipation. It was a world completely different than mine and a place I could retreat when it seemed like my life would never be calm and normal again.
Over the years I read all her books as I could find them. Many were read so many times they fell apart and had to be kept together with rubber bands. After many moves my sadly torn books disappeared. I looked for reprints many times in book stores but was never able to find them.
Now I am the Grandmother of twelve, and I was overjoyed to find them again in my I-books library. I am downloading them and reading them all again. It is like reading them for the very first time. I recommend them highly and hope you get as much joy out of reading them as I have.
Thank you Cynthia, for everything!
Love the fact that the women portrayed in this series are just as strong and willful as the men.
