    Riveting!!

The amazing riches to rags saga of a Japanese immigrant woman from her birth in Onorimura, Japan in 1895 to her death in East Los Angeles, California ninety-one years later. Full of the genealogical details that shaped her destiny, the interactive format makes reading fun. I really liked the video interviews with her children as they remembered Mizuko. A great use of iPad technology!

    Moving and Powerful Story

A moving and powerful story, filled with deep and stirring experiences. I was hooked from the moment I saw the cover photo – I knew I was going to read about a strong and determined women. Happily, even more unfolded as I learned and experienced the dramatic history of a whole family, and through them important aspects of the history of Japan and the US. As one relatively unfamiliar with Japan and Japanese culture and experiences, I learned a tremendous amount. And I found the eBook format extremely helpful as it allowed me to investigate and dig deeper into subjects along the way that interested me.
