Characters are well developed, the plot makes you want to keep reading late into the night.
Not military sci-fi
The structure and discipline in the author’s concept of the military is abysmal. If pilots really behaved like this, they’d never be able to win a war against a human military much less an alien invasion. Think top gun meets guardian of the Galaxy and ask yourself how well that would work as an armed force.
