For Lani Love, nothing in life has ever been easy. It started with an overbearing father, a distant mother, and a highly controlled childhood. At nineteen, she finally leaves home and heads to the warm city of Austin, Texas, where she hopes the sun will melt away all her painful memories. However, she quickly learns that just because you leave a place, that place may not leave you. She finds that her past still haunts her, her father still controls her, and her demons still torment her.
