Publisher Description

He was reelected in a landslide in 1984, proclaiming it was "Morning in America". His second term was primarily marked by foreign matters, such as the ending of the Cold War, the bombing of Libya, and the revelation of the Iran-Contra affair. Reagan supported anti-communist movements worldwide and spent his first term forgoing the strategy of detente by ordering a massive military buildup in an arms race with the USSR. Reagan negotiated with Soviet General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev, culminating in the INF Treaty and the decrease of both countries' nuclear arsenals. Reagan left office in 1989. In 1994, the former president disclosed that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease earlier in the year; he died ten years later at the age of 93. He has been rated highly by scholars in rankings of U.S. Presidents.

A capitalist American ,

Ronald Reagan: Our last hope

It is a sad day in America when we worry that our child might be killed in school. It is a sad day in America when the Government takes more than it's fair share of your earnings. It's a sad day in America when the media and Government alike portray wealth and thrift as hoarding and greed. It is a sad in in this great nation when we abandon the principles of our hardworking fathers and forefathers and replace them with laziness, ignorance and toleration for a moral abandonment. These artful speeches remind me that America is still a great nation. They remind me that we have to fight for America and truly American principles. I hope that we can look beyond party politics and look together at an AMERICAN future. Anyone who cares should read these speeches and decide what is best for this god-given nation. Hardworking honesty and pursuit of prosperity and wealth? Or a darkness of hopeless greed and laziness. This nation you and I live in is under attack. Who's side are you on?
