Steal My Breath

Where do I start? I don’t know where to start because it’s complicated. There is so much to tell you, but I can’t tell you, because I want you to read this amazing book and experience all it has to offer.

I laughed, I cried, I actually had an ache in my chest while reading. The emotions that you go through with this read are crazy good. You get so engrossed in the book it’s like you’re watching a movie. There were a few times I was interrupted and wished I had a sign to put up so I could just point at it instead of replying!

There is passion filled moments that are off the charts! Luke is a dirty talker and let me tell you he is good! Luke is everything you want in an alpha; bossy, broody, passionate, possessive, and a sexy smoldering voice that growls when he speaks to you. He loves his family and wants nothing more than to provide a stable loving home for his son Sean. The cast of characters in Luke’s family are a very interesting lot and the story that goes along with it will tug at your heart strings.

Callie is an amazingly strong heroine with a strong moral character, and her beliefs in right and wrong, and in truth and justice. She grew up the youngest child and Callie couldn’t live up to the standards set by her parents, because they doted on her older sister and her parents reminded her often of her shortcomings. Callie didn’t let that set her back, she trudged forward and kept on going even though she wished the situation was different; and that her parents loved her the way they loved and doted on her sister. Callie is a kindhearted soul and she would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She gave as good as she would get from Luke and the banter between them was hilarious at times.

This book had some angst to it. I really felt my stomach twisting in knots as the story unfolded. I went through a whole gamut of emotions for Luke, Callie and the other characters involved. There is quite the back story that comes out that you don’t see coming.

Steal My Breath is such a fitting name for this book. What Luke and Callie felt for each other was such a deep and passionate love and the reader felt it. This book is one of my favorites for 2016 and I am sure one that I will turn to as a favorite re-read.

Luke is one bossy complicated stubborn hot alpha male. Callie is a woman with a big heart. She does what she feels is right. Even if it's the hardest thing for her to do. She loves with her whole heart. Luke and Callie make for a interesting couple. They are both stubborn. Can they make it through all the issues that are holding them apart. So glad everything happened the way it did. Could not wait to see where the story would go.

Luke and Callie just don't have it easy when it comes to the relationship they want and deserve. Both characters have strong beliefs in family, life and love that create tension for them to reach their HEA. Ms Levine keeps the reader firmly immersed in the relationship building of the characters through dual POV. It's easy to side or understand the Hero and heroine's action as the reader takes the journey . This is a first time read for me for Nina Levine. Her storyline themes are interesting and exploration of character are depth diving that it won't be my last.

I wise mentor said, "Review the book you read, not the book you wanted to read." This is where I struggle. I really try to not allow expectations color my review. In the case of Steal My Breath it has. I don't want to reveal where I struggled with the story as it will need to contain spoilers. I will leave it at reader preference as there were a few plot points I felt unfinished or rushed. Those who follow me know I'm a voracious reader who gobbles stories I love in under 1 day. I believe that some people will absolutely love the in-depth, push-pull relationship pace of this novel. If you are that reader, I'd recommend this read. 3.5 stars out of 5
