Rise, Red as the Dawn
This is a well-written prequel telling the story of Captain Farley and her adventures before meeting Mare Barrow. We even get a hint into her meeting and relationship with Shade Barrow. Definitely a great read after reading the Red Queen.
Delicious tease!
This was a great beginning of what could be an amazing book, as long as not too many of the decoded mission updates don’t overwhelm the enjoyment. Recommend reading the red queen book first or you have no reference of the underlying problems in the world the characters live in. Having said that... I want more of these two stories! Farley and shadow have me enamored and hoping her other books more fully explore the interaction between these two!
