Publisher Description

Steven Universe: Art & Origins is the first book to take fans behind the scenes of the groundbreaking and boundlessly creative Emmy Award-winning Cartoon Network animated series Steven Universe. The eponymous Steven is a boy who—alongside his mentors, the Crystal Gems (Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl)—must learn to use his inherited powers to protect his home, Beach City, from the forces of evil. Bursting with concept art, production samples, early sketches, storyboards, and exclusive commentary, this lavishly illustrated companion book offers a meticulous written and visual history of the show, as well as an all-access tour of the creative team’s process. Steven Universe: Art & Origins reveals how creator Rebecca Sugar, the writers, the animators, and the voice actors work in tandem to bring this adventure-packed television series to life.

Steven Universe will always be in our hearts.

So I have this book in real life, and whenever I look at it or read it, it makes me cry a little because it ended. I know I could be writing this on the book that comes out in October (It’s called Steven Universe: End Of An Era with the art from Change Your Mind and on), but I’m not patient.

Anyways, it’s interesting to see how the characters could’ve had different clothes. For example, Peridot went through a lot of different designs that could’ve been in the show. I liked the 3rd design the best (I’m pretty sure it was that one).

And if the Crewniverse and Rebecca see this, thank you so much for the incredible show. Thank you, for showing me such amazing characters and how funny, loving, and joyful they are. (P.S, my favorite characters were Peridot, Spinel, Smoky Quartz, and Aquamarine, even though she was a villain, I think she was pretty funny sometimes!) 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😢😢😢🙂🙂🙂♾♾♾

Steven Universe will always be in our hearts ‘y’all. And like Dr. Suess said,
“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened”.
