Author Biography:

Leigh Hay is a freelance writer and editor. Co-author of the best selling Mind Your Mind-Rational thinking strategies for children, Leigh is also a former ASG May Gibbs Nutcote Fellowship Writer-in-Residence. An award winning poet, Leigh’s work has been published in a number of Australian anthologies. Stick Your Neck Out started life as spontaneous words on paper until illustrator Andrew McKenzie introduced two giraffes. After that, the story glowed. Leigh hopes that Stick Your Neck Out will inspire many glitter gumboot days for countless people.


Illustrator Biography:

Andrew McKenzie. First time illustrator, long-time drawer. For as long as he can remember Andrew has been scribbling away – even when he was supposed to be paying attention in class or was bored in a business meeting. “Doodling is great.
