Publisher Description
Steven Thompson had a bad year. A string of mean, kinky (the alarming kind, not the good kind), and crazy dating debacles combined with a boss who appears to be experiencing male-prenatal-psychosis means Steven’s stress levels are high. They’re so high, he’s decided to quit dating and focus instead solely on his job.
Until he meets Dr. Ken Miles.
Doctor Ken Miles is having a fantastic year. His hard work is paying off in a big way . . . professionally. But his social life? Not so much.
Until he meets Steven Thompson.
Steven isn’t so sure about Dr. Miles, but Ken is one hundred percent certain about Mr. Thompson. And even though both men know full well that the key to getting what you want out of life is hard work, they can’t seem to make them—together—work.
Will they ever get on the same page? Or just keep sticking to the same old script?
'Sticking to the Script' is a full-length contemporary romantic comedy, can be read as a standalone, and is book #2 in the Cipher Office series, Knitting in the City World, Penny Reid Book Universe.
Customer Reviews
Superb writing. Great story!
I really enjoyed this book. It was the first book I’ve read with a M&M romance. Frankly I didn’t know what to expect. But the writing was superb. I ended up loving how Steven and Dr. Ken Miles love story unfolded. I got a kick out of seeing so many characters from Penny Reid’s Knitting in the City books make an appearance.
Another Smartie pants story
This book contains man on man sex scenes and if you are uncomfortable with that, don’t read it.
The sex scenes are the primary reason for the 3 star rating. The story was great, I’ve always loved Steven and was glad to read his story about his relationship with Dr. Ken Miles (As Elizabeth would call him) I enjoyed the story but when the sex scenes happened it was skim skim skim, ok back to the story.
If you have read the knitting in the city series by Penny Reid, then you will know about Steven, he is Quinn’s CFO for Cipher Security and the most unlucky gay man in finding love. The poor man has one dating disaster after another and he deals with these disasters by making light of his poor luck.
If you read Nico and Elizabeth’s story you will remember Dr. Ken Miles. Elizabeth had planned on having a no strings sexual affair with Dr. Ken Miles before Nico steals her heart.
So I was surprised to find out that Dr. Ken Miles is bi-sexual, and so was Steven. No one knew!
Any way long story short they find each other and after many misunderstandings between themselves and among friends and family members the two men finally are able to come together.
