Still at Birth details the highly emotional personal journey of Caroline Sugden, from euphoria at the anticipation of the birth to the tragic story following the death of her baby daughter, Isabelle Rose.  

In 2004, Caroline and Mark Sugden joined the ranks of millions of first-time mums and dads.  At 39.75 weeks, their perfect baby was born.  Isabelle Rose was a lovely baby with 10 fingers and 10 toes, but she did not get to take her first breath.  In one horrific moment Caroline, Mark and Isabelle Rose went from being a loving family unit to being mere statistics, joining the 2,000 families who suffer stillbirth each year in Australia alone.

In this book, Caroline shares the most intimate details of her experiences in order to empower and help other couples who are given nothing but empty rhetoric about the unexplained, death of their baby.  She also discusses the subsequent physical, psychological and emotional hurdles which are part of the process of deciding to have another baby.
